~Does Anyone Else Smell Burning Hair Or Am I Having A Stroke?!~

“How tall am I? Honey, with hair, heels and attitude I’m through this damned roof.”
-RuPaul

Ok, I think one of my favorite websites is trying to kill me. True story. I was surfing today and made my way to NOTCOUTURE (amazing site...) and saw these Alexander McQueen boots:

They're only motive could have been murder...and I damn near died. If it wasn't for the fact that God is not ready for me and the devil has a restraining order they may have succeeded...

And these Frankie Morello's were most likely posted to ensure my demise...

I almost wish they succeeded in their quest because now I'm alive and lusting...seriously lusting. And it's painful...deliciously painful.

If I Have To Choose Between "Guilty" Or "Bleu" ...I'd Rather Be Guilty~

“Film is one of the three universal languages, the other two: mathematics and music”
~Frank Capra

The fashion industry's love affair with film continues... Chanel and Gucci both enlisted noted film directors to produce mini-movie commercials for their latest fragrances. Martin Scorsese directed/created a commercial for Chanel's new men's cologne "Bleu" and "Sin City" director Frank Miller enlisted actress Evan Rachel Wood to play a femme fatale in a commercial for "Guilty", Gucci's latest scent. Both are obviously quite impressive but "Guilty" is definitely more my style... Martin Scorsese is a favorite of mine but in my opinion... Frank Miller did the damn thing this time.

~Do It Myself? Oh Hell No...I Want Her To Do It For Me~

It takes half your life before you discover life is a do-it-yourself project.”
~Napoleon Hill

I have never been much of a DIY kind of girl... I would much rather trot (Yes, sometimes I "trot") into a building with a B on it (Barney's, Bloomies, Bergdorf's, Bendel's...) and buy whatever it is I want/need/desire. Sometimes I do have a vision of something I would like to make reality but the only time I'm artistic is when I have a makeup brush in my hand. When it comes to the art of makeup I'm Picasso (Yes, I do say so myself) but other than that...no. Not even a little bit.

Lauren Tennenbaum of InDecorous Taste however is BRILLIANT at DIY projects. I actually feel like I'm belittling the art she creates by even calling them DIY projects. Her latest shoe creation has me salivating... These shoes are BEYOND... Her use of harnesses, studs and crystals... I'm speechless.

~Haute Music: Barry Bondz "The Comeback III Made In America~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

"Without music life would be a mistake." ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

I always say my inner-circle is the best place on earth, it's comprised of friends and family that I couldn't live without. My insides, parts of my heart. The select few I let in are the best people you'll ever meet. That I guarantee. The best part of my inner circle? The SOUND. To be exact, the MUSIC of my much adored friend "Bondz". My world just wouldn't be the same without it. And don't get it twisted, I am not writing this post simply because he is who he is to me. I don't do that. I don't have to, the music speaks for itself. I'll show you. Come into my inner-circle for a little while, I'll introduce you to "Barry Bondz"...

East Coast Rapper and businessman Barry “Bondz” owner and CEO of Aviator Music & Genco Media LLC , was first introduced to rap by an older sibling and wrote his first song by the age of 16. Since then he has gone on to release several mix tapes and 3 albums, including a group compilation, most of which was produced by his own company. “Bondz” has also hosted numerous drops for radio host Wendy Williams, his song “Goodbye” was added to DJ Premier’s satellite radio show, he has had radio airplay all over the East Coast, and Forrest Whitaker’s documentary “Brick City” featured his song “Southward”.

In addition to his work as a recording artist for his own label and as a recording artist for Killa Konceptz Inc he is a successful business man as well, selling studio time and development services to other artists at his Flight Deck Studios.

Today he released "The Comeback III Made In America" a FREE downloadable CD for his fans who have supported him through the years and for people who haven't yet had a chance to experience his lyrical prowess... The CD is INSANE., I've had the pleasure of shaking my ass to it for the past few weeks and I'm telling you...it's HAUTE CRACK. Everyone will love it, there are joints on there for the divas and the gents... Take your asses over to Datpiff.com and download "The Comeback III Made In America" and thank me later....

~Cupcakes and Pepsi... Now This Is Art That Speaks To Me~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

"Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one."  ~Stella Adler

Although I consider myself a fabulously cultured renaissance woman I have no problem admitting that I am not quite as educated about the art world as some of my friends and colleagues. Don't get me wrong, I love visiting museums and art galleries. It's actually a favorite activity of mine. I just don't always know who painted something just by looking at it or from what 'period" it is...I basically just know what I like. If I look at something and I'm completely in awe or it makes me think or it makes me feel...it's good artwork as far as I'm concerned. The following artists make me HAPPY. One for incorporating sweets, donuts and cupcakes, into a comic/cartoon like style. Everything I love... And the second artist for filling a pool with cola...my dream. Lol...seriously. Swimming in a pool of Pepsi sounds blissful... I know, I'm sick.

Let's talk a walk through the world of art "Glamour Whore" style...

Highly successful artist Eric Joyner is know for his vivid, wildly fun "Robots and Donuts" illustrations. He once said "When I decided to become a gallery artist I made a rule for myself that I would only paint things I like".  It worked for him, as his list of showings and awards is a mile long and as a patron who can only relate to and purchase what I like...he and I are a match made in heaven. As of late he has incorporated cupcakes into his work...I may marry this man. And buy a painting. See all of his work HERE

Now something to wash down them donuts and cupcakes with....

Photographer/Artist Mike Bouchet, who apparently started making his own cola in 2004, turned a fantasy of mine into reality via his work. He filled an entire pool with his homemade diet cola (I have no idea why he choose diet, in my fantasy its Pepsi...) and shot a series of striking photographs. These photos have been shown at countless galleries and I can see why... I love them. The only thing that is not clear to me is how he did not know that I would have been the perfect model for this project...*wink* The most recent showing of "Diet Cola Works" was at Los Angeles gallery The Box

~I Have A New Found Respect For Kanye West. Yes, I Used The Words "Respect" And "Kanye" In The Same Sentence~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

“If y'all fresh to death, then I'm deceased.” -Kanye West

Over the past few years Kanye West had become somewhat of a walking, talking, living, breathing joke to me. Not as an artist. Don't get it twisted, his work as an artist is always the TRUTH, I mean as a "celebrity". Being a music artist and being a celebrity are two separate and two very different jobs, just in case you didn't know. And as a celebrity he has had quite a few "moments" in the past year or so. I'm not going to rehash all of his "moments" as I'm sure you have read about them somewhere... Then for awhile we heard something from Kanye we had never heard before...SILENCE. Yup...he just disappeared for awhile. Odd...but much needed by him, his career and the public. He needed a timeout. We needed a timeout from him.

He resurfaced a few weeks back with a new track entitled "Power"...I loved it as usual but braced myself for his return to the media. But...nope. Still nothing. Last week another track was released and his press tour started. He did an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez and I have to say after listening to him...I have a new respect for him. Why? Because in explaining his absence I learned that he finally did what he needed to do for himself and he did it at FENDI!! Word.

Yup, yup!! Apparently he took a nice little 3 week trip to Japan before moving to Rome and INTERNING at Fendi. In his own words: "I ended up moving to Rome and I was interning at Fendi. Every day, going to work, walking to work, getting cappuccinos!" End quote.

I respect this for a few reasons... 1) Because so many celebs go bat shit crazy for one reason or another and don't do what he did willingly...take a break. He didn't fear not being in the public eye or being forgotten. He just did what he needed to do for him. And 2) Because of all of the rappers who spit names of couture labels out of their mouths like water he is the only one who actually did the knowledge by working with one and really learning about it.

Let's face it, most of these dudes can't even spell or pronounce the names of most designers correctly, they sure as hell don't know the history and inner workings of these prestigious fashion houses. But Kanye apparently doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk...all the way to Rome. Nice. I respect that. Welcome back Mr.West.
